Reading LJ support boards
Mar. 16th, 2008 05:47 pmI do that sometimes when I'm bored.
There are soooo many cases of "I've forgotten my password and/or changed the e-mail I signed up with, but I really want my account deleted."
There are also plenty of cases of "This account was created in 1999 and has never been used, I'd really like the name, why can't I have it?"
Now, do you reckon it would make sense for LJ to implement a system where all these people who have forgotten/lost passwords and e-mails to access and delete their accounts. It would free up a load of server space and a shitload of usernames that people probably want.
