For the last few days I've held plans of getting the two old stereos out of the nook beside my bed and sticking the unused bookshelf from the computer room there so it can hold my "reference collection" (i.e. Field guides, travel guides, Attenborough DVDs and similar things). Now, for this I needed help to move stuff, or so I thought.

But Matt's work has him working half the weekend as well, and I got tired of waiting.

So, I stuck the bags in front of everything on the bed - easy.

I chucked the old work shirts elsewhere in the bedroom, to become rags - easy.

I managed to grab one stereo after another and shuffle them to a temporary spot in the bedroom, they can't stay there, but at least for now they're out of the way, narrow passes and crutches do not a good combo make - a bit harder.

I tossed Jakie's cushions, that my leg was up on briefly but that were now on the bedroom floor into the passage way and pushed them along bit by bit with my crutches to the other section of passage way - someone else will have to pick them up and stick them in the lounge room - wonder how long that will take.

I removed the small amount of stuff from the top of the bookshelf in the computer room. It's a small bookshelf so I was able to lift it and put it in the doorway, the challenge was moving it.

I managed to maneuver it through the passage way by shoving it with my crutches (take a step, shove shelf, take another step). But once I reached the carpeted bedroom floor it became more awkward. I managed to sort of shuffle it foward by lifting it between each step until I got it to the end of the bed.

Once it was there I could sit on the bed, my right knee, and especially the ankle, which start to ache and sting after too long holding my weight, rejoiced. I was able to grab the bookshelf and move it where it needed to be.

Putting books and things in was possibly the most awkward part - because I have to get up from the bed, but bend down to reach it, which makes my good leg protest greatly. I also managed to sit/lay on the bed and drag over the box with the field guides in it to empty it.

The box now needs to be slid back under the futon and I want to grab a couple of books from the dining room shelf to put in here - that can wait, for now I'm resting my good leg, I don't want both to give out.
