Mild my arse
May. 11th, 2007 07:18 pmI bought one of those dodgy Indian packet meals a few days ago. This one was Palak Paneer. "A mildly spiced combination of paneer and spinach."
I knew it would probably only have 3 or 4 chunks of cheese (I was right) in a foul looking spinach mush (right again). I was prepared for that.
When I bought it I also looked at the ingredients. One ingredient is "mixed spices". The spices are then named - all fine, there is pepper, but I can deal with a little pepper.
Then a day later I'm looking at the pack again and notice that under the small square that says "Cooks in 2 minutes" there are two small chillis pictured and the word "medium". Oookay. The front said MILDLY spiced, which was why I bought it. Medium is generally too hot for me.
I decided to eat it tonight. Double checked the ingredients. Nope, no chilli mentioned. Can't be THAT hot then.
It is. It most certainly has chilli in it, that ain't pepper hotness. I'm struggling through it but not enjoying it because my mouth is burning.
Not happy.
