Everyone else is doing it and I was going to anyway so here we go!

2004 - The year in review

- I started birding rabidly and in the process saw many awesome places. I see and hear things totally different now. I now know that paradalotes and whistlers are common as nuts and always hear them around the place when I'd never heard of them before. I'm just constantly looking and listening and it makes the world a whole new place. I'll post a link to my birding highlights when I write that up.
- I finished my degree.
- I nabbed the job of my dreams!
- I became a lot more independent and less down in the dumps. I realised that I am essentially a solitary creature and can be happy doing what I love on my own if there is no-one to do it with.
- I went in a karaoke competion - and didn't get past the first round.
- I only went to the cinema twice that I remember. First time was Day After Tomorrow, second was Phantom of the Opera just last week, which has sparked a small obsession and got me writing fanfic.
- About 6 months after seeing The Day After Tomorrow nature decided to show us her fury. One part of me is like everyone else - it's a tragic thing. But the other half is just in awe of Mother Nature's power, long after we are gone, the Earth will remain.
- I spent my first year living away from home and managed to refrain from throttling my housemates. *smiles sweetly*
- I joined a gym, pity I won't be able to use the last 3 months due to being 2500km away.
- My computer went boom and remained so for a large part of June/July. I did other things instead.
- I got really into cooking, especially baking and amassed quite a nice collection of baking goods, which needs to be offloaded before I go to Broome. Must go to people who appreciate the collection.
- I became obsessed with beads and made a lot of jewellery... and sold little. Ah well, at least I have many pretty beads to ogle.
- I decided sushi is the perfect food.
- The brakes went on the My Little Pony collecting due to lack of space and money. I'm still active in the MLP community however.
- I watched Australian Idol all the way through, it was the only TV show that I DID watch all of. Still waiting for albums from Chanel, Courtney and Marty.
- [livejournal.com profile] jassa found the whole season of American Gothic. I promptly went squee and began to watch it. It's just as brilliant as I remember it back in 1996.

Best Song - Taylor - Jack Johnson
Best Party Song - Hey Ya - Outkast
Worst Song - Left Outside Alone - Anastasia
Best Meal - a duck dish I had at the Black Swan Cafe involving a fruity risotto, apple strudel and orange jus. I don't think it's on the menu anymore which is really sad because MAN that was good!
Best Movie - Phantom Of The Opera. Point Of No Return sounds completely different to me after seeing Gerry Butler & Emmy Rossum's performance of it. *runs off to have a cold shower*

Any other best ofs? Just ask me and I'll let you know.
