gemfyreI just went for a walk at Glendalough Open Space. As I walked the sky became steadily darker and thunder began to rumble in the distance. So I upped my pace and headed back to my car.
Oh God it's RIGHT OVERHEAD! Awesome, I hope the power doesn't go out.
Anyway. I got back to my car and gazed at the churning sky. Then a streak of forked lightning pierced the sky so I got in the car and drove to the shops. Just after I got out of the car there the rain began... then the hail began. I picked up a hailstone and placed it on my tongue. :) It was pelting when I came out of the shop. I ran the short distance to my car and got quite soaked in the process. Amazing how in a few minutes the water on the asphalt becomes churning torrents about 5cm deep.
Well I made it home through the thunder and lightning and slightly flooded roads and now I'm listening to the rain (or is it hail?) pinging on the cover of the exhaust fan in the toilet and hearing the thunder rumble and watching it out of my window. It's pretty hot up here because I can't open my window - the water comes straight in.
