Sounds a lot like the old Roy/Leia thing.
Do other communities get schizoids like this? Or is it just us pony collectors?

Date: 2003-03-24 07:59 am (UTC)Hell yeah. For my dissertation I spoke to lots of people in various other communities/fandoms and we seem to be getting off pretty lightly.
For example, in the LotR fandom there was a girl who faked her own death, to the extent of putting a death notice in the paper, purely to get the money people sent her gf for flowers. This girl reappeared later under a new name (and a new gender)- stupidly, she got caught out. Dumbass. I mean, that's just *evil*. Compared to her, the Lya thing seems quite ordinary :)
