Dreams

Recently I've had two rather interesting dreams.

The first involved a storm.  A lightning bolt broke my bedroom window and zapped me.  I wasn't massively hurt I don't think, just in shock and worried that my stuff was getting wet due to the broken window.  Of course I had this dream when we were having storms, they almost cancelled a footy game due to threat of lightning strikes, and the most recent hurricane passed over Florida.

The next dream was just awesome.  I was somewhere (Singapore I think, God knows why it was Singapore, never been there!) and I think I was birdwatching.  I was approached by some team and asked if I wanted to work for them.  The work consisted of just sitting out in the wilderness and watching birds and mammals, and recording their behaviour.  That was pretty much it.  That would be the perfect job methinks.

Morons on the road

Monday afternoon driving to my parents.  For a while I was behind a car.  I this car were two unrestrained toddlers.  The brake lights didn't work and they were often speeding.  Hey at least they indicated correctly!

RSPCA

Bear is back!! She must have just been in the hospital or something. She's smoochy as ever, I so want to take her home. I ended up with a mouthful of kitty hair and drool again when she was giving kisses and nuzzles and climbing me. *grinz*

Also bathed a couple of cats! We started right around the time I had to leave but I helped with two of them. We had to give all the cats in recievals and ringworm medication bath. With 4 of us it wasn't too hard (two to restrain, one to wipe with ringworm med and one to towel them down. The second cat however was a velcro cat, claws sticking into everything. It was good to be able to do something new. Never bathed an adult cat before.

The MLP Trading Post is an endless source of morons and idiots.  The latest is a girl who calls herself "ponyfeatherz".

For starters, Sel pleaded with her to change her nick right off the bat because she had used the name Ponyfeathers for years and didn't want things to be confused.  It's okay, Sel writes intelligently, this ponyfeatherz (yes, little p, we'll get to that) writes like an utter moron.  She refused to change her nick anyway.

Her latest thing is whinging about how she couldn't get a dog because her house lacked a fence (it being an apartment).  Maybe a reasonable enough whinge, except that she's after a boisterous golden retriever.  Everyone tells her if she only has an apartment that a retriever is a bad idea and she should research breeds more suitable but of course she ignores all that, or calls the advice givers "meanies" as these types always do.

ponyfeatherz doesn't use capital letters, she doesn't punctuate either.  Her posts are one long run on sentence in all lower case (I suppose that marginally better than all caps).  People tell her that it's extremely hard to read these posts.  Of course, she pretty much ignores them.  We just got this...

im sorry my posts are so hard to read but im not very good at punctuation anyway im not against getting a puppy or a mutt or another breed of dog i just really want to adopt Bear

Not very good?  Well... try?  At least.

I couldn't help but reply.  Snarky disguised as helpful, I know.

Read what you've written.

If when reading you take a short breath, put one of these (,) there - it's called a comma.

If you take a long breath put one of these (.) there - it's called a full stop.

I thought people learned this in school?

She replied that I was rude.  Maybe so.  Others replied that I was trying to be helpful (which is also true, I figured if I let her know the absolute basics she might be able to grasp that at least) and that it was more rude to write in long run on sentences that gave people a headache to read.

And whaddyaknow!  She plays the learning disability card!  *yay!*

Now.  These days it seems learning disabilities are like ADD and depression.  EVERYONE seems to have one of these ailments and throw it around as an excuse to be an asshole or a moron.  Why do people bother go to school if they have such a bad "learning disability" that they can't manage to grasp as basic a concept as the full stop?  (I admit, explaining the comma might have been pushing it).  It's not hard.  I'd like to know how such a rampant brain problem that causes people to just not absorb ANY of the basic spelling and grammar lessons works and came to be.  It seems to be a case of "Oh, someone once told me I had a learning disability so I'll use that as an excuse to bug everyone and cry and call people meanies when they call me out on it or try to teach me a little."
