I found a recipe for gingerbread in one of my cooking magazines and decided I'd dig out the old MLP cookie making set and make pony shaped gingerbread!!

The first few didn't work that well because the dough was too sticky and the cutters are pretty intricate and leave skinny legs and tails and stuff that break and go out of shape easily, but eventually I got the hang of it and produced quite a few pony looking pony biscuits.

I also made some rabbits, because it's getting near easter. And the actual gingerbread man I made first became decapitated, then his legs fell off!! The sadistic side of me left him like that *giggles*.

If I was feeling really artistic (which I never am) I would make multi coloured icing and ice them to look like real ponies or customs. But they are fine as they are.

In other news. Watched the documentary on Abby and Brittany Hensel, they are conjoined twins. They pretty much look on first glance like a person with an extra wide torso and two heads. Their torsos are fused, but they each have a heart, a set of lungs and a liver. However they only have one set of kidneys, one intestine, shared reproductive organs etc. The sort of thing that usually doesn't survive. By a miracle these two seem to be thriving. I remember reading an article about them ages ago and it's interesting to see how they're getting along. They are now 13. They are certainly not one person with two heads but two distinct people with one set of arms and legs. Each controls their own arm or leg but amazingly they are able to co-ordinate the limbs in such a way (even they don't know how they do it) that they can run, ride a bike and play basketball, volleyball, baseball, swim, or anything else they care to put their minds to. They like and hate different foods but it doesn't matter because whatever one eats, gives nutrition to them both. One gets sick from taking medication often so the other takes the medication most of the time. They often share illnesses. Due to the fact that their body is pretty much Y-shaped their spines have a shocking case of scoliosis, Brittany's (I think it's her) spine had an angle of over 100 degrees for a while. They alleviated it by putting in metal struts but due to the body shape a normally straight spine is impossible. It's been all great for them so far but it will be interesting to see how they handle adolescence, and even sex. It's sad in a way too because they both say they want to be mothers. I don't know if they know it yet but from my knowledge I think that would be impossible within their bodies. There is no space for a baby to develop. The way their spines are going unless they have constant corrections (from doctors who are pretty much making educated guesses because they have never done anything like it before) of their spines the scoliosis could progress to a stage where the ribcages collapse. I wonder how long they will live. God granted them a miracle letting them survive and be so healthy. But I just wonder how long it will last.
