To be fleshed out and considered
May. 9th, 2013 12:53 pmJust notes for now.
Theon was always cocky, confident and cavalier about sex. He's the kind of guy who commits date-rape. He'll chat up and sleep with any woman who he finds vaguely attractive (and even those who aren't, because to him really, a woman is only what lies between her legs). It's a definite possibility that the buys from the mill are his bastards. He implies to the poor girl on the ship, who has been seduced by him and will now get in awful trouble with her father, is now probably pregnant, but she won't be seeing or hearing from him again (interesting, if Theon HAD become King of the Iron Islands and she HAD been pregnant, would she watch her king and tell her child about him? A similar situation defined Ramsay's childhood - but his mother refused to be swept under the carpet and kept hounding Roose and infusing a serious sense of entitlement into her son).
Theon is proud of his sexual prowess. He's a man and how dare anyone think he's craven etc etc. Then Ramsay comes along. Ramsay gets in his space, touches him in ways he doesn't want to be touched. Whether or not Ramsay rapes Theon is entirely up to speculation. What is more provable is the fact that at some stage, Ramsay has castrated Theon. So in these extreme acts, Ramsay has managed to violently strip away all the things about Theon that he prized most. If the torture had been purely of a non-sexual nature, I doubt Theon ever would have completely lost himself inside Reek. As Reek he can pretend that he never actually existed. Reek has always lived a life of servitude, something less than a man, not even capable (or deserving) of rescuing the damsel-in-distress Jeyne Poole when the opportunity arises. Without the intervention from Roose Bolton, Barbrey Dustin and the spearwives, he would never have come out of his self-imposed shell enough to contemplate attempting escape with Jeyne.
