Okay, I'll answer why.

Because despite the fact that they are cancer causing and make it hard to breathe for people who choose not to inhale smoke and poison, they STINK! And the smell HANGS AROUND for ages.

Don't think you go outside, have your ciggy, come back inside and everything's okay - you still stink! You will do so for half an hour or so. Everywhere you walk will also smell for a while.

And if you decide, "Oh I'll cover it up with some other smell." That also usually smells bad, and is tainted by the cigarette smoke which IS STILL HANGING AROUND! So really, it just makes everything worse.

Ugh. All smokers should be forced to use E-cigs or get thier nicotine some other way that doesn't involve smoke.

I hate getting into a lift that reeks of cig smoke. The person may have had the smoke outside, away from the building, but the smell is in their clothes and hair and person and infects small spaces.

i agree!

smoking is foul and it stinks and is disgusting. i hate walking down the footpath having to weave around the revolting smoke that i can still smell and breathe in even if i do go around them as far away as possible.

specially outside the shopping centres. ok so yeah you are outside, but hello, we have to WALK PAST YOU TO GET INSIDE!!!!

the worst place is king edward hospital. you can't get in the main entrance without walking through a cloud of smoke, it's horrid!

I agree with all of that, but I can't agree with outlawing it. The nanny state has already gone too far. Yes, some people stink. For various reasons. That's not enough reason to make it illegal. People have to be allowed to make their own choices, even if they are dumb ones.
