I was thinking last night as I drifted to sleep how the members of the JLA seem to be analogous with Roman/Greek Gods.

Superman - Zeus
Wonder Woman - Hera (hell, she's even named Diana, who is the Goddess of the Hunt)
Batman - Hades
Green Arrow - Mars
Flash - Mercury
Green Lantern - uuhhhh, any ideas?
Aquaman - Poseidon

Well Wondy is actually powered by/given life by Aphrodite. GL might be something with Hephestus. Creation of things. All I can think of.
