Remember people, despite what the mass media would have you believe, you don't HAVE to vote for Labor or Liberal (or even Greens!). There ARE more than three parties up for election and not voting for the majors is NOT a wasted vote.

Also, check out belowtheline and vote effectively in the senate.

it's been a hard decision to decide who to vote for this year. :(
i've always voted below the line, even though it takes forever.
but i'm still having thoughts about who to vote for in the house of reps.

THIS X 1 million! So many ppl whinge about the two party system and not having a real choice... self-fulfilling prophecy, people! You have a choice, use it!! (/preaching to the converted)

Also, check out the LJ of [livejournal.com profile] 17catherines for a really throughtful analysis/rundown of ALL the parties (though it's based on the Victorian senate ballot paper, so WA only parties/independents aren't there) I discovered several minor parties I knew little about and am now kind of in love with.

95% of people vote above the line. I reckon they probably don't even know where their preferences are going, they just trust their chosen party to give them to parties that share their ideals when really it's all trade offs and power broking - revolting Family First has a senator b/c of Labour preferencing!
