A question for hetrosexual couples who share a bed.

The question seems weirdly worded, but I figured it was the only way to get consistent answers. If I just asked if the female slept on the left or right side of the bed, then it would be, "Well, is that my right when I'm laying on the bed, or my right when I'm standing at the end of the bed looking at it?"

Not currently in a position to say, though it may be less to do with actual left/right sides, and more to do with where the door is. Just something I heard.

interesting, because in my previous x2 house (with partner) I used to sleep on the right, which was furtherest from the door, but in my most previous house and current house (both single) I sleep on the left side, which is again the opposite side of the door.

I think, though, that I changed sides because there was a light switch on the left wall, so it meant I didn't have to get up to turn the light off.

and the above doesn't really work because sleeping on the right side in partner's house was closest to the (inside) door (opposite to the balcony door)

I still don't understand the question. When viewed from the head of the bed, my wife is on the right side and I'm on the left.

Okay, I think I have it. I answered "right" because if she happened to lie flat on her back in the place where she normally sleeps, her right arm and leg would be closer to the nearest edge of the bed. Man, I shouldn't have tried to comprehend this before 6 a.m.

I *always* fall sleep on my left side and hence I sleep on the left side of the bed (so as not to breathe in as much CO2 and warm air from my other half). Quite some time ago I worked out that I fall asleep on my left side because my left ear is more sensitive than my right so this blocks out the most noise.

ATM, I'm on the right. But if the bed were moved so that the right side was up against the wall, I'd be on the left. I like to be able to get in/out without having to do a "clamber over"

I'm not sure if the door position also affects this. The door is also on the right.

When I was single, or with previous partners, I always slept on the right side. Since I met da hubby 12 yrs ago, I've slept on the left. I've tried swapping back, but it feels completely wrong.

Now I just want a Kingsized bed...

Ok, I'm reading this as does the woman face her significant other or turn away from him. NOT whether you sleep on the left side or right side of the bed.

For me, and this may seem odd, but it depends on who I am with at the time. Usually I would face my significant other, (laying on his arm and then we'd embrace) but sometimes I'll turn away if he wants to spoon.

I said left, however when I first got a double bed was when I had a partner and slept on the right side. Only since I've been single have I slept on the left, no idea why the change.
