The bee-eaters are back!

I now work walking distance from Lake Jolimont, a small intermittent lake. I often have lunch there.

Now today was warm and Friday, so it was already pretty good. Down at the lake there are cygnets and baby coots and ducklings. And to my delight I heard the familiar "prrt-prrt" of Rainbow Bee-eaters! They're back for the year. :)

There were a bunch of them flitting around.

I need a bee-eater icon.

Hoorah for bee-eaters! There's a whole bunch at Koondoola Regional Bushland as well. They're so stunning. My favourite rainbow bee-eater picture on DeviantArt is this one:

I saw 10 beeeaters flying across Scarborough Beach Road as I was going to the fruit shop yesterday around 10am. Looked like they were heading to Herdsman.
