I got out of Jury Duty. I had a holiday planned.

Anyway, wouldn't the details of the trial be confidential?

it might be confidential while it's in session but once a verdict is made, most court proceedings are publicly available. unless they have an order to make them gagged or whatnot.

Only when it comes to certain matters, ie civil actions involving libel/slander, or matters of public policy.

IN the US at least, the results of criminal trails are public record, and only sealed if there is a post verdict gag order (pretty rare), or if the case involved a child.
Civil trials are a bit of a different story, but juries typically don't know the details of the settlement costs.
