I keep meaning to post new editions of Birding Lessons. But can't get motivated.

I've been enjoying them. I can now look at a lot more birds and think to myself "I should know what that is". Perhaps it's time for some revision :-) We definitely have at least one local butcher bird - I've even seen it butchering skinks in the fork of a branch.

And one of those things with the swooping flight pattern. Um. Birdie thing.

We seem to have more ring-necked parrots than rainbow lorikeets around here, which is nice.

We seem to have picked up a solitary pidgeon. I think one of the boy doves was trying to chat it up.

A Black-faced Cuckcoo-shrike? Many birdos call them a Bifcus, it's slightly less of a mouthful. Shufflewing is nice though.
