It kinda makes me feel better to write these. Names and details changed to protect the... it's a confidentiality thing, although I have no idea what you'd do with the info.
Yesterday
I get a call from my boss about 10 minutes before I'm about to head to work. He is frantically searching for a lease he needs to check over before client arrives at 9:30. All he knows is it's "shoe store in Claremont". I ask if there is a name on the calendar or anything, I can't recall there being an appointment then, which means he hasn't informed me of it so I could write it on the calendar. No, no name. I can't help him.
I get to work and ask if he's had any luck finding it. Yes, he did, it was so-and-so's file. Great, no worries. I glance at the calendar and notice, oh look, an appointment at 9:30 and the client's NAME right there! If he'd said the name I would have known exactly who it was and said, "yeah, look under C, if it's not there it's in one of the piles on your desk."
*sigh*
Today
"Where's the file for Cathy Ross?" The name is familar. But I'm thinking, I'm sure the file is actually under another name.
"What other names could it be under?"
"It's Cathy Ross." Ookay, I think.
He has to leave for something. I search for the name among the computer files. A single letter has been saved with her name identifying it, I open it up and look at the ID number.
"Oh, Ben Jones file!" (which is actually named after their buisness). I grab the file right away and plonk it on his desk. When he comes in he'll ask, "What's this file?" no doubt.
