Writer's Block: Close Call

Almost hitting a HUGE roo just out of Narrogin on my way to Albany. I hit the gravel and my life flashed before my eyes (I'm sure the same happened to the roo!), but lucky he had the presence of mind to actually turn away from the car, so we were both safe and I enjoyed my holiday.
But on the other hand, a split-second slip on the bathroom floor ended me up in a huge knee brace for 6 weeks, on crutches for 4 months and I doubt my knee will ever be 100% again.

Date: 2009-05-22 01:30 am (UTC)I saw a big red out near Laverton (and I mean MASSIVE) trying to cross the road... we were heading East, and a truck was in the other lane heading West. Nic anticipated a collision with the roo and the truck and slowed down as to avoid roo-splatter, but the roo, who was at full tilt (how fast do they go? I read somewhere 50km/h but not sure if that's right).... managed to scamper a little and turn around and avoid the truck. Fortunately we were slow enough that he managed to get off the road to safety.
