Diesel cars will automatically run on biodiesel. No conversion required. My car has been running on a biodiesel blend that you can buy from Gull for quite a while.
Depends what you want in a 'camper'. I've seen 4x4 diesel ute setups that look really comfy, and would be more fuel efficent due to it being a lighter vehicle.
Also, I'd want something significantly newer than that troupie. That's the age when annoying bits of trim start falling off and bits start rusting etc.
