Quote of the year... so far. :)

2 days ago I had no interest in this Watchmen film that I'd heard some talk of. I figured it was another movie based on a TV series that everybody but me watches. But then Matt mentioned the three magic words "Comic book movie" and I was in.

That was a pretty brutal and unforgiving movie. Liberal use of the F-word, plenty of blood and violence, a couple of sex scenes, full frontal (CGI) male nudity.

I would have been happy if the movie ended at All Along The Watchtower. The rest seemed a little gratuitous and laboured. I'm intrigued by this Rorshach character.

And am I the only one who reckons the guy who played The Comedian looked like Robert Downey Jr?

You and everyone else. The actor in question is actually getting a bit cranky that people keep getting them mixed up.

I was pretty sure it wasn't him because I couldn't recall seeing his name in the intro or hearing anything about him being in it. It had me weirded out though.

And it was interesting to see Patrick Wilson playing something else - I'm used to seeing him as Raoul in Phantom of the Opera.

Rorshach is my hero. I read the graphic novel many years ago and I loved its. Its dark, its sinister, its hard hitting (from what I remember... well thats what sticks with me).

I have been told that the ending is totaly different from the book though, but luckly David decided that he wanted to read the book so we have it again now..:)

We are seeing the film tonight or tomorrow, but I don't mind spoilers at all:)

Get the book! I haven't seen the movie yet, but if it's brutal and unforgiving, they did it right. It's the comic book that changed superhero comics forever, and made the new Batman and The Incredibles possible.
