When Mythbusters did the ice bullet thing - did they only use explosive powered guns?

I'm imagining an air rifle or a blowpipe would shoot an ice bullet quite effectively and lethally.

In other news - I found a Banded Lapwing at Herdsman Lake this morning on the way to work. I drove past it and did a double take and was like, "That's not a peewee." So I pulled onto the curb and took a closer look and whaddyaknow. It wasn't an adult male, not sure if it was a juvie or a female.
