I'm going to crumb some chicken thighs with panko crumbs.

Do you reckon I can cook these in my George Foreman grill and have the crumbs stay on? Or should go for the old standard of shallow frying them?

I found that Foreman grill burns everything. I haven't used mine in years. :/ My vote is for oven bake or fry

Really? I LOVE mine because nothing burns in it! I cook all sorts of stuff in it.

I actually meant to post this to [livejournal.com profile] cooking. Which I shall do right now. :)

Oh, oops. Sorry ^^
Mine might be an old model, maybe?

*shrug* Could be.

I bought mine in late '06. The model I got was on special for $90, which was cheaper than the regular sized grill, and my one is MASSIVE. It has two separate plates (which you can set to different temperatures) and each plate is almost twice the size of the standard grill.

And quite often I use up all the space on it, I don't know how I'd manage with a smaller grill.

Oohhh yeah. Mine is super small, on a slant and made in probably...the year...2000 or 2001.
XD

I'd recommend oven-frying myself. That's what I do when I crumb chicken since too much oil is a no-no in my diet.

Way to confuse me by making two of my filters have identical posts at the top :)

(But I second the oven baking)

I do breading on my pork chops all the time on my foreman. It works pretty okay, you just run the risk of leaving some of it behind.

I love my foreman. And I need to invest in some panko bread crumbs. Yum.

i find if you crumb the chicken early snd fridge it for a few hours then bring back to room temish before cooking the crumbs stick better no matter which way you cook. i would try the rill if it is oiled otherise i go for the pan frying. Im not sure how well the crumbs will brown on the grill.

on a side note i so want a grill. Just one for me!
