I used to say that I would like to be fed to a tiger. But a human body chock full of all the pollutants and chemicals found in a western lifestyle probably isn't much good for a tiger. And for some reason it's illegal.

So realisticly, I'd prefer my body to decompose naturally. Sitting on top of the ground, being eaten by whatever critter feeds on carrion and having my constituent molecules returned to the soil for them to be reused.

Realisticly, realisticly, I'll have to settle for a green burial, which usually entails being buried in a bio-degradable box in a plot of forest set aside for the purpose. It's better than having my blood replaced with a highly toxic fluid which retards biodegradation and then being put into an exhorbitantly expensive, non-biodegradable box in the earth to take up space and not give anything back though.

you know, it never occurred to me that modern caskets aren't bio....I think I just assumed they where like the old pine boxes..they'd get there eventually.

I like your last idea a lot.

Not to mention the amount of pollution caused by embalming processes. It stops natural decomposition of the bodies and puts tonnes of formadelhyde in the earth every year.
