the idea behind copy rite it to prevent people, like zero g, profiting from others intellectual property. it was therefore interesting to me when I heard the stroy of a movie that was sued for having a 3 second clip of a freddy Kruger film on a tv in the background of a scene. any recognizable portion became coverable under copy rite even though there was no profit.
the zero g compilation though would be interesting if sold in australia as it would also breach fair trading regulations for false and misleading information. they dont own that beat
I am not against sampling and I dont agree with much of the copy rite laws, but I do believe the original creator should be recognised and credited as a writer.
according to Wikipedia the break has also appeared in futurama and the powerpuff girls.
