Seems it's now perfectly acceptable to write "devine" when you mean "divine".

Oh I HATE reading case notes. "Jim had a quite evening watching TV". I swear almost everyone does it too - it makes me cringe.

Don't forget "should of" instead of "should have."

it is like the discussion rod and I had a few years ago over Inquiry and Enquiry. THEY COME FROM DIFFERENT PARTS OF LANGUAGE. one is a passive request for information and one is a demand for information. it is acceptable now though to interchange to two.

it has annoyed me since I saw a current affair doing it years ago.

The hardware store by my parents' house frequently puts "Now excepting applications" on their billboard. I want to go in there with a blank paper and tell them "Okay, I'm one of the exceptions!"

Dear Lord, I'm so glad that you're as AR about this kind of thing as I am! -_- Living in the Southern US, I could go to any number of shops and find at least one hand-written sign in the broken grammar/spelling we call English here.

*hugs*
