Second time around

gemfyreDespite the windows constantly fogging up because it was freaking cold, a second viewing of two of the best movies I've seen this year was great.
The events of Dark Knight make a lot more sense after a little research into the other characters and backstory. And Joker's motivations (if you can call them motivations) are a lot clearer and his orchestrations, schemes and deceptions are clearer. Certainly a movie where the good guys are just there to showcase the bad guy.
The first third of Speed Racer made a lot more sense this time around. First time I didn't know who all the characters were, so had a hard time keeping up with the switches back and forth in the opening, and the first appearance of Racer X, which passed me by on the first viewing. It's still delightfully colourful. It wouldn't matter how crap this movie is, because it just looks so damn awesome.
