OMG I barley slept last night, and today I buy one of those one capsule thingers.

ONE CAPSULE
TWENTY TWO DOLLARS!!

WTF!? It better bloody work. I feel so damn guilty not going to work today, but I doubt my male boss would understand my constant irritated squirming and rushing to the toilet. I told him I had a cold. I'll just do double the work tomorrow - hey, not like I don't spend most of the day bumming around anyway.

I feel your irritation - I really do. I get an average of ten yeasties a year (a side effect of being diabetic) - and I am sick to death of Diflucan, and cream and itching... Bah. Just remember that the Diflucan can take up to 3 days to BEGIN working and a week to clear the infection completely. And yes, you can use the cream/pessaries and the capsule concurrently.

If you can stomach it (and Matt can) raw garlic works for me. Wrap it in a bit of toast with butter if you can't chew it raw, and cut some into swallowable sizes for further down the intestinal tract.

Together with a glass of milk with some yoghurt stirred into it I've combated some nasty infections that way.

Oh I've already used the garlic - but in a more direct manner. It helped a bit I think. That and Tea-tree oil finally allowed me to sleep for a bit.

This sounds gross, but dunk a tampon in natural organic yoghurt and stick it up there for a bit. It's supposed to help balance stuff. YOu know what i mean, i don't want to go into too much detail. My doctor told me to this one, it actually does provide relief and helps you get better.

I've never tried dipping it in yogurt. I did consider putting yogurt inside though. (When I have a really bad infection I put a tampon inside to help with the itching) I actually have a yeast infection now lol. Though it's very light. Ok so this sounds really gross, but if you put your finger inside and get a bunch of the extra stuff out it really does help. Make sure your hands are really clean of course, and wash them really good afterwards, but that helps tremendously with the itching. Just do it every so often and you'll be amazed at how much better you feel.

TMI? This whole post is TMI. ;) I may try your suggestion when I have a shower this evening.

Only yoghurt in the house is apricot flavour with sugar in it.

I do however have plenty of garlic which is helping. Hopefully it will be tolerable by tomorrow. My boss can't manage without me, he's so scatterbrained. :)

I feel for you. I have dermatitis in that area and on Monday it flared up...

I ended up at the Drs on Thursday after a week of not sleeping and getting up every 5 mins..

Agreed, yoghurt is good. But you definitely want the natural non-flavoured no sugar kind. Can also be nice and soothing if you apply it straight from the fridge. ;)

Also, going commando for a bit can help--"air it out" so to speak.

I think our garlic is a bit old, didn't feel a thing, and I deliberately nicked it too. Bloody inferior garlic. :)
