I'm free to do what I want any old time
Apr. 2nd, 2008 12:31 pmI just went to Gwelup Plaza to do a bit of shopping. \o/ I can drive and do a bit of shopping on my own now, which means I can do it whenever I want.
I was a bit bummed that there are no markets near where I live now. There was a nice one in Subiaco but for some reason they closed it down. Herdsman Fresh isn't too far away, but can get pricey.
Then I discovered Gwelup Plaza. There is a fruit & veg store that also sells deli meats and cheese and some gourmet foods. Beautiful. And the accompanying Supa IGA is quite spectacular too. It seems the owner must actually care about the store because everything is presented immaculately with cute hand drawn chalk signs with little pictures on them and stuff. The fresh sections here are awesome too.
I wonder if it's open on Sunday like the smaller IGAs. That would be absolutely ideal. I've found my source of fruit and veg, and some of my seafood and meat.

Absolutely Organic near the petrol station on the corner of Karrinyup and North Beach Road is nice to visit, they have some cool stuff. They keep odd hours - closed Mondays I think. They look like nothing outside but inside they're wonderful.
The Balcatta Growers Market on the corner of Karrinyup Road and Cedric Street has some good stuff, but traffic can be hazardous.
There's a lethally delicious cake shop at Stirling Village, further along Cedric Street...er Fresh N Tasty. It's good.
Very good W.A fruit and veggies at Sunfresh Fruit and Veg on corner of Scarb Beach Road and Woodside St.
On Brighton Road there's an excellent award winning pie shop and another market next door, dangerous combination.
Happy shopping!
