Currently researching prices for hiring a 4WD for this trip to Broome.

Interesting how many hire places state the 4WDs "are not to be driven off road".

Huh? Isn't that the whole POINT of hiring a 4WD rather than a regular vehicle?

You would THINK... but then how many 4wd owners ever go off road?

But I agree; buying a 4WD for status with no intention of ever using it is bad enough, but hiring one for status? LAME.

I suspect it's so the company doesn't have to repair all the dents and dings to the underside of the car that could potentially happen...
