What is one food that you refuse to try? Why?

This weird writer's block thing again!

Pretty much, I'll try anything if it isn't an endangered species. Admittedly I am still psyching myself up for things like jellyfish and fugu, but I have eaten widgety grubs and would love to try snake, honeypot ant and mealworm pate.

Today's To Do

Remove bread from pan
Make Bean Jar
Litter trays
Washing
Porridge
Mushroom on toast
Dishes
Fertilise herbs
Wash hair
Tidy kitchen table/s

I have tried dry roasted mealworms - taste like bbq crisps. chocolate coated hoppers taste really nice
Hmm - I agree, the only thing I would not try would probably be an endangered species, or something that was prepared "inhumanely" - like fugu... i've seen how they prepare it and they cut straight into the living animal to keep it fresh. Nuh huh! Some snake dishes are prepared like that too.
I would like to try horse and zebra:) I tried kangaroo for the first time the other day - very, very nice.

Kangaroo is beautiful.

The only catch is it has to be cooked right. Rare/medium rare is as far as you want to go - any more and it's like chewing an old boot.

i used to know a lady who, with her husband, owned a restaurant that specialised in Australian game meat. anything that could be found wild in Australia (native or not) that they could get supplied, they would cook.

kangaroo is a pain to cook because it is very muscular and easy to over cook. she always said her favourite meat was camel because it is so juicy

Camel rocks too.

You can get it Mahogany Inn. Great stuff, although the middle of the bit I got was a bit too rare for me. The edges, which were thinner were great.

As for roo - I just put a steak on the grill and give it 1 or 2 minutes, no longer.

When I move in.

God knows it's a heap easier to cook for 3 rather than 1.

lol, tell me about it. I've always thought cooking for one was a waste of effort.

and by the time you move in we might have food to cook...

Oh c'mon, thousands of creatures eat insects everyday. How could they be wrong?
