My allergies partly drive my preference or short haired kitties, but lack of required grooming is a factor, too. I had a Himalayan once, and she required a minimum of an hour's worth of grooming daily. I don't spend an hour on my own grooming!

missy is a medium hair (she's half persian) and my new ellie is a DSH which i generally don't like but she was just adorable.


i love long haired cats but they are a lot of work and shed a LOT. missy doesn't seem to shed a lot, but my housemate's dsh sheds heaps.

anyhow yeah. long haired cats seem more beautiful somehow to me. but any cat is good as long as it is fed well and has nice silky fur full of omega 3 and 6 :)

I love all kitties, but short-hairs have the easiest fur to deal with (I think! I've never taken care of no naked cat.)

Shorter hair is less anoying on me. however I'd prefer any cat that doesn't shed incessently on everything

I had to pick medium cos my darling Frou is a medium hair kitty, and I have to prefer the cat I have, otherwise its a betrayal... :P

I much pref short haired dogs though. I think coat length is more significant on doggies because of their tendency to be grottier than kitties.
