Apparently they did a very thorough search and found none. I guess it fits the criteria for extinct.

Of course that doesn't neccessarily mean there are no more, but it's likely.

Sorry I didn't post any links. A quick Google search should bring up the article.

...Um, wow. Didn't they have them in sanctuaries or anything like that? D:

Not sure, but I don't think so. China doesn't have a really good record for conservation.

Well...if they think there might be a few left, can't they look harder, capture them and put them in a sanctuary and see if they can breed them? Or maybe clone them or something? D:

wasn't that the dolphin that they said several years ago would most likely go instinct if they built the three gorges dam and they STILL WENT AHEAD WITH IT??

Shit...I'm so fucking mad. They never cared about them.

Fucking idiots. This is just going to keep happening, and it sounds like the finless porpoise is going to follow very soon. "How could we have possibly known that if we kept destroying their habitats that they would die? That's just not fair!"

Now to see what the dependence on coal in China is going to continue to do to the environment both locally and globally...

Yeah, I have a particular sadness for this li'll fella after reading all about him in Last Chance to See.

It's also an extinction which is pretty much entirely the fault of humans.

Stupid humans.

Awww! That's so sad. Times like these I despise my specie. River dolphins are so unique.
