The plague is here...

From Wickepin onward, through Kulin and Kondonin.

Locusts.

I saw swarms of them flying about but once the swarm was gone I still could hear this pop and tick on the underside of the car. Then I realised all those dots on the road were locusts. I took a walk and clouds of them lifted before me. They can walk on water, I saw them. They're light enough and can literally hop over the surface of calm water, like they would on land.

However due to this plague there was a flock of whiskered terns having a feast over Lake Kondonin. I haven't seen them since Broome. It was also kinda bizarre to see silver gulls this far inland.

Cleaned the window in Kondonin and it was even grottier by the time I got back to Narrogin.

I'm just glad someone else cleans the work cars...

D'you know if they're gonna get as far as Perth?

I remember the one in 1990.

Apparently there have been 2 or 3 since then, big one in 2000 apparently which I completely failed to notice.

They'll probably get to the outskirts of Perth, but I doubt they'll be as bad as they are in country wheat-growing areas.
