FIRE?!

Here I am, making my lunch when I hear "FIRE!" from the laundry.

"Shit!" I think, "The washing machine's on fire!"

Then I noticed water all over the floor. The pipe from the machine just sits in a clip over the edge of the trough. Due to shaky old washing machine it had popped out of the trough and so water was spurting onto the floor. Towels. Mop. Not too much drama, all is good again now with miniscule carpet wetting.

Speaking of fire however. Yesterday a citronella pallet at the Morley W.A. Salvage caught fire. As I was driving home along Tonking I could just see billowing smoke. On the news I learned that the smoke was rather toxic due to paint and plastic and stuff being alight and nearby residents were being urged to take neccessary precautions. Once again I've driving past a toxic fire and been lucky the smoke was blowing the other way. The store is gutted, millions of dollars worth of damage. We went down and had a rubberneck this morning.

that'd be me. amazing that whilst on the phone to my mum i still acted with the built in reaction of if you need help NOW, yell fire, nothing else.

My partner Glen lives walking distance from that WA Salvage, literally lives right next to (sorta) the Charlie's at the intersection. So we heard about it early. Scary.
