I wish eBay would let you watch as many items as you wanted.

Terrie goes and lists 20 auctions and I want to watch most of them and I can't.

And buy my shit

I wish Serenevalkyrie would allow responses in her journal, I really wanna respond to the one about the plague.

Ah stuff it, I'm bored I'll do it here.

"*watching news* "HEALTH SCARE" about the bubonic plague in NY. TWO whole people are infected! Dear god! Two out of 10 million! What a scare! -_- just now they said its nothing to worry about. So why the hell did the report start with the big words HEALTH SCARE? Its not contagious, AND theyre not even NYers, they got it from their home in New Mexico, theyre just visiting. *shakes head*"

Plague is VERY contaigious, how do you think all those people in London got it in the 1600's?? Sure 2 people (especially from somewhere where the disease is more prevalent) having it isn't a major health scare but it's a rare and very contaigious disease. The medical community at least must be alerted so they can wipe it out before it has a chance to spread. One case of ebola in a western country is a health scare. Hell the slightest TRACE of rabies here in Australia is cause for a LOT of concern because we've strived so much to keep the disease out of here.

"Um... someone raped a 9 year old and she's reportedly pregnant? Did i hear this wrong? I think I did.. Thats not possible!"

Oooh yes it is. Girls as young as 7 have gotten pregnant in the past. Everyone develops differently. You'd probably be surprised at the number of 9 year olds who have have started menstruating.

::gets out death cart::

I'll second that period fact. I wasn't menstuating when I was young, but I was menstruating pretty early. And it is possible to get pregnant before menarche.

And your talking about the plague section here, or would that have been natural selection?

It was not just london that was effected by the plauge. I think it was 50% of the UK population at the time were killed by it.

Its not contagious in itself, its carried by the fleas of black rats, the reason it spread so fast was the lack of sanitiation, and 15 million people sleeping in one room. In Edinburgh the poor were walled into their underground houses and left to die..:( The rich thought that they could control the plauge by doing that. There is a report that a nursery was walled up and the mothers demanded to be let in to get their kids, while they were in there they were walled in as well!:(

This should be taken seriously, no matter what.. Something like that going around again would just wipe us all out (thinks, that might not be a bad idea).

I think at one stage it was most of Europe even.

I just always think of London cuz it was the great fire in 1666 that put an end to it all.

Some people just aren't very bright, and don't choose to educate themselves before mouthing off on any given topic. *shrug* That's why shit like that can become a much bigger problem than it *should* because people are so bloody ignorant. You can't leave comments there because she'd get too many along that line, LOL.

It has been suggested that the reason girls are developing earlier is due to hormone residues in milk/meat products (not such a problem in Aus, but more so in the US). Also the Black Death affected the whole of Europe not just the UK and in previous years certain areas of US national parks have been closed becuase of bubonic plangue affecting animals so by closign it off to humans people are less likely to get it.

weird thing is, people are having children at a much older age these days in the western world.

In the past it was not unusual to be married at 13 and have children not long after. This 7 year old I read of somewhere was pregnant many many years ago, not in recent times.

So where did this plague come from? Same place as the anthrax? Cos surely its been wiped out from the natural world. I heard from somewhere that there were factories in USA and Russia that were still developing newer and more deadly forms of the bubonic plague (as well as anthrax, smallpox and other horrid diseases that are now curable). Is this where it came from? Is it some kind of a terrorist attack? If it is, then it puts it all in a whole different light.

Plague is around in many areas, Central America being a well known habour for it. A think there is a population of squirrels further north also known to habour the disease.

It's just not common these days because it's easily curable and the western world is a damn site cleaner than it was in the 1600's.
