Quite often I will do things that give people the wrong impression about me. Thing is, most of the time I'm doing it on purpose. Those who really know me know it's bullshit.

Take the abortion debate ([livejournal.com profile] abortiondebate) for instance. I debate with the best of them there. And reading my replies I realise that I almost sound like this rabid pro-abortionist that would terminate any inkling of another human life in me without a second thought.

In reality, if I did get pregnant (which I take steps not to become), I would be scared shitless, but chances are I would keep and raise it as best I could.

Ideally however I'd like to be able to have child when I'm good and ready. I have no idea when that will be.

It's wacky how people assume that "pro-choice" means "I would personally have an abortion." I personally would, but you wouldn't, and that's fine... because we're exercising, you know, choice.

They also often think it means I'm gonna force anyone who finds out they're pregnant to abort. I may think myself that they should or should not, but I'm not gonna say a thing either way.

OK, not that this would happen at the moment but anyway, If I found out tomorrow that I was pregnant, even though I am pro-choice and I not ready to have a kid, I would give birth to it and adopt it out. my first choice would be to someone I know and trust would wanted a baby, however if no one I knew wanted the child then I would give it up to an agency or whatever to decide. fostering out would be out of the question. I would want it to have a chance at a normal family

The issue is though that it is pro-choice. Though I respect other peoples choice to have an abortion, that is not what I would choose, but thats the whole point of having choice

Exactly.

It's amazing how many people from the other camp on Abortiondebate think pro-choice means "supports abortion only". It really sucks that the mods deemed the phrase "anti-choice" not allowed, even though it is a lot more appropriate than "pro-life".
