But I still don't get electric can openers or "pasta cookers".

My gran had an electric can opener because she was too arthritic to use a regular one. You've got me stumped on the pasta cooker though -- I've never heard of it before!

electric can openeds are great for blind people or people with arthrytis :P i mean do you think you'd be game to pull a ring pull can being blind or trying to turn a can opener with your hands in agony?

Hot dog cookers get me...as do fairy floss machines for the home.

Umm...I can't find your post about feeding cats but the whiskas advance stuff I put the cats on is brilliant. Romm had flakey skin & that's all cleared up, they're maintaining their weights & there's about 6 or 7 ingredients before any mention of grain. I also feed them roo meat once in a while or fresh fish or tinned tuna. Our vet has a card which once you buy 8 bags you get 1 free heheh. It's about $30 a bag (I think it's a 3kg bag? It's pretty big) & that lasts 2 cats a month.

not to rile your feathers but i got my mom an electric jar opener, the step above electric can opener!
she's getting older and just doesn't have the strength anymore, tho she's never used it, she just gets colin to open her jars, lol!

i'm with you on the general primise tho, pots and pans and basic gizmos are my way too but one day i'm sure i'll be too weak to do this stuff too and simply adore the ease-accessories.

:)

Oh Em Gee. What a completely useless and expensive device.

I'm trying to think of something worse, but I can't... Maybe the removable plates for your waffle iron that let you make 75 different shapes and spell out Happy Birthday and such. Just eat the waffle!

Yeah, garlic doesn't get stuck all through a knife.

Leccy can openers make short work of cheap cat food tins!
