I can do the basic thing; make it make it change frames. Can't do the smooth movie-like ones. This one's an example of pretty much all I can do.
I used Adobe Photoshop for it. I've also used a prog called GIF Construction Set Professional, but I don't anymore cos the trial expired. You could prolly find a simple prog with a google search, though.
Paint Shop Pro version6 (the poor but eaqually ass kicking version of Photoshop) and up I beleive has an intergrated animation maker there. The bonus is the program also teaches you how to flawlessly animate images (just click the how to icon) so you can create to your hearts content. Just be mindful of the KB limit LJ has.
there is - or was - a free trial version on jasac animation studio avalible. Its realy easy to animate with it, however mine expired several months ago *cries*
