Every OS Sucks

Then Kernal32 decided to crash for no reason whatsoever.
Tell me, what good is a computer that will just crash at random intervals and give you NO indication of when that will be?
It's not like I muck around with it's internal working or anything, I just do stuff any other normal computer user does, I install stuff and try to use it. I don't know why I am plagued by constant crashes and that lovely "not enough memory" error when I have shitloads of the stuff.
Somebody invent a reliable OS for me please, one that the few games I like will play on properly.

Date: 2002-10-30 07:32 pm (UTC)BJ wont use *nix cos its her parents puter, and they dunno squat about computers, or very little anyway. that and BJ's games that she runs (which i believe was part of the complaint) dont like running under xp. most specifically, RCT just doenst like it.
I'm still considering the need of a reformat of her OS drive and upgrading the OS at the same time. not sure how nice and easy that will be though.
And as for the virus thingy, Norton, like all anti-virus programs, doesnt pick up every virus because there are new ones all the time, and you haveto keep updating the virus database that it uses to look for them. The free one you suggest is a good anti-virus, however do you have any suggestion for a better defrag program than the one thats part of norton? cos, winblows defrag sucks to the point that it never finishes. ever. and nortons one usually does a good job of the defrag, as far as i've noticed.

Date: 2002-10-31 01:36 am (UTC)so RCT doesn't like XP... Wonder if that's why my copy is having a shit... Back to win 98 then I guess
I have never had a problem with windows defrag. Didn't like the way 2000 did it but otherwise never a hassle.
