They also have teeny black spots on them which is a worry. Today Ricki & I had a day off and went to the Gravel Pit and Taylor’s Lagoon via Roebuck Plains, then checked out Wader Beach to hunt for Redshank (which we unfortunately dipped on).

It’s been ages since I did some proper birding, and I was sick of getting a species list consisting of 12 or so birds. Today I got a tidy 89 species, that’s much more like it. But walking through all that grass at Gravel Pit and Taylor’s was hell.
