Today in summary.
Drama that must be kept secret.
Clock had stopped, 6am start instead of planned 5/5:30.
Bus wouldn't start.
Took longer than expected to get going.
Loud good music on the way to town.
Wallaby.
Avoiding wallaby, dinged and bogged car.
Chris not in office to answer phone.
Terence from Greencorps drove right past, even waved, but didn't stop.
Called Tropical Motors and someone brought the troupie out.
Wallaby survived.
Ricki's car dinged.
Speed shopping.
Couldn't mail booklets, account cancelled.
Lost both shopping lists.
Car change for pickups and luggage "frieght".
Plane was late.
At least that gave me a chance to sit and call mum.
No lunch til 3pm.
Fridge is back.
Freezers still reek of fish.
Bins need emptying.
Ricki threatens to resign again, Chris expresses similar sentiments. I figure I must be a lot tougher than I think because I'm not that rattled.
Got to bask in a bit of praise from Ricki commending Chris and I on our handling of things today.
Dinner BBQ
Seeing as the other staff are vegan or vegetarian I have to cook the meat.
Couldn't figure out how to light the hotplate - think it's broken. Too many bugs outside to use the wood BBQ.
Used frypans. Because I could only have one frypan going with the space I was cooking meat bit by bit and worrying about some bits not being cooked enough and others being cold, I have rarely ever cooked meat BBQ style, someone else has always done that for me and I specialise in fancier preparations.
The kitchen is hideously facilitated. Many things ended up stored in saucepans because there were no containers.
ARRRGGGHHH!!!
Now I shower and sleep. Don't expect too much news from me over the next week. It will be flat out work for me from dawn till well after dusk and I doublt I'll have time for LJ and e-mail. *sob*

Date: 2005-04-05 03:10 pm (UTC)BBQ is good. fryed up bbq meat stuffs works just as well.
Probably the best way of doing it is to continually serve the meat to the people that are going to eat it. at least it doesn't get cold that way...
*hugs*
When you get back down here we'll have a much nicer kitchen for you! I imagine this places kitchen even looks good sometimes in comparison, and that's scary
