My bed and desk are gone. My wardrobe is empty. I just have a teeny desk and my computer and a couple of other things here. I still need to cart up my books/bookshelves, CDs, cassettes and videos, but I should be able to cram them all in my car for another trip.

Now I've gotta head up there. Figure out what I'm going to need for the next week and a bit and find somewhere to sleep.

Eventually I will have to pack.

Anyone got a box suitable to ship a computer in? I'm thinking getting my computer shipped up (hopefully I will have enough desk space, there are rumours of a laptop, but all my stuff will have to be transferred down here while I'm up there which is a pain, but, I would have a laptop. Then it doesn't matter if I have no desk at all :)

It's all nerve wracking but whatever happens the experience will be good for me. I can't wait to fall alseep to the sounds of waves lapping at the shore and awake to the dawn chorus.

Unpacking computers is something I do a lot of in my job. So we usually have several boxes (and styrofoam/bubble wrap) available. If you want, I'll bring a box home on Monday/Tuesday and you can drop by at some point when you're in the area to pick it up :-)

Can you stay at your place but there's just no furniture? You could borrow our foam mattress if that's the case.

I can sleep in Matt's bed.

That "and find somewhere to sleep" actually meant "decide if I sleep here or at my parents."

I'll be back and forth between them the entire week until I leave.
