Work clobber
Jan. 9th, 2005 11:22 amI hit the motherlode... or should I say, my mother spent a load of money on me. We went into the city yesterday, shopped from 10am to 5pm and she spent... I don't know if I should reveal how much she spent. Lets just say, I should score jobs a long way away more often. :)
I now have only a few small items that need to bought before my trip. Yesterday I ended up with loads of clothes, and two lovely, essential items.
The HAT!
The hat is lovely. It's soft kangaroo leather and is squishy so you can fold it for travel - very useful. It smells wonderful and looks great and is comfortable. The lady who sold it to us threw in the chinstrap for free, which is great. I NEEDED a chinstrap, I can see the hat flying off in a gust of wind otherwise.

My camera just doesn't seem to photograph well when it's less than brightest bright light. But I got a few photos of the hat. I discovered that my new banana yellow nightie (also acquired yesterday) looks good with my work clobber... all I need is a stockwhip. ;)

The BOOTS!
The boots are Rivers brand. I've had a pair of Rivers previously in my life and they served me well. They're nice and comfy and were marked down to $60. You wouldn't believe how hard it was to find outdoor/hiking boots in women's sizes. All the womens shoes were bloody dress shoes! But these will do me well.

Very dark photo.
The boots came with a bit of propaganda about shoe polish, pretty much saying that if you anything but Rivers Shoe Cream your shoes will go all horrid and fall apart. So I'm asking for a general consensus - would Dubbin be okay on these boots? They are matte leather. I have Dubbin right here.
And the whole ensemble.

I guess I should get properly dressed sometime.
