I am depressed where I am at at the moment, I have some happiness but relationship wise I am in alot of pain, I have tried to end things but he wont accept it. I want other men and I want to feel loved.

I am happier with my SO than I have ever been with any person, including friends, and I'm as satisfied with this relationship as it's humanly possible to be. . . but I hate his family. They're a bunch of ignorant rednecks, and they have no respect for women ("they" includes the women of the family themselves). Needless to say, they're anti-gay.

They always say that when you marry someone, you marry their family, but goddamnit. How the hell am I supposed to find someone I love this much and am this happy with again--and why would I WANT to? He is not them, and I resent them for tainting my love with worry about future situations. I would go so far as to say that I hate a select few of them.

He's a very peace-loving person and he doesn't have a problem with the way I feel, but I just worry. It's not fair that something like this should be ruined by something so stupid.

In one week I will turn 21. I will be legally able to drink and gamble. I feel like I have accomplished so little in my life so far. I just want to really start my life and do something great. I feel stuck.
