Democrats, Greens, Labor, Liberals, One Nation. In fact, it's likely to be that way locally too.
Not sure who else there is to choose from, but they'd likely end up between Labor and Liberals.
On a related note, I find it interesting that the only political junk mail that has made it into my letterbox has been Liberals stuff. Smells like panic to me.
so your saying your not voting for them, but you are, since none of the others will win your vote ends up being for the major party you put first.
I vote Democrat too, but realise that they wont win my seat, so my vote ends up being for whoever i put first of liberal and labor, usually liberal. I like financial responsibility over spending largely on stuff we might like to have but don't have the money to actually fund
I'm not voting for them FIRST. Or second. And it's entirely possible I won't vote for them third or fourth either, depending what other options are available on the day.
I tend to make most of my decisions based on what affects me, my friends, and my family. I don't follow politics very closely. So when I hear both the Liberals and Labor are against gay marriage, they both get put down the bottom of my list. When local Labor govt wastes $2 million on entertaining kids rather than looking out for the underpaid and overworked nurses, it also gets a black mark against it.
Both main parties have wasted large amounts of money. But right now, I still despise Liberals more than Labor. Just.
Well, i'll be voting labour. I don't pay much attention to politics either but over the past yr i've sort of had to understand it more. Labour gets my vote based on education and health. Since i'm a uni student, what Liberal has already done affects me greatly, and i dislike that Brendan Nelson guy, he's a dickhead if you want my opinion on that. Bloody making us pay more in HECS fees to obtain a higher tertiary qualification when HE got his for FREE. It's absolute bullshit!
I just hate the fact that you MUST vote for all of them in some order.
If I had my way it would be an absolute no for both Labour and Liberal. I think each is as bad as the other and I hate that I have to put one first and that they will get my vote against my will because of it.
i know what you mean, but it's cause the other parties only have specific agendas they want to address, and not everything else that needs to have something done about it. It's like the Greens are all for the environment, which is good, but what about all the other important stuff that needs to be fixed, like the education and health systems? What can they really do about it? Or national security and our economy? i don't think i've heard them address much on that, but then again i don't really pay much attention to it anyway. The major parties address all of these issues, and they're the ones who get the votes because of these issues. There's no way that the minor parties would get in power cause nowhere near enough ppl put them first, as much as that may suck sometimes.
I like the fact that this original post was about the show, and then Jared (sorry about possible incorrect spelling, that's how one of my friends spells his name) somehow turned it into a convo about politics! lol
Speaking about the show, it is rather sucky, it was pretty good for the Adelaide one cause our transport system also gave out special discounts so for a student it only cost me about $10.50, which was quite good =)
