We have two videos. Both are over 20 years old. One of them we can't get to tune in, and it has a habit of eating tapes anyway. The other requires a cable that is no longer available at 99% of electronics stores.
I think I just need to wait until we can afford a new TV/Video/DVD player.
What type of cable is it... i'm assuming cos of the age its a BNC cable... the ones that have the socket thats like a little metal cylinder with two nubs sticking out the side... that you twist the connector onto to attach it... you should beable to get an adaptor from tandy/dick smiths to convert those sockets to standard RCA (stereo/audio) cables for like two or 3 dollars each... butttt... I could be wrong....
I don't know the details. It's Matt's TV/Video. But apparently he's been to Tandys, Dick Smiths and other places and the parts just aren't available anymore.
get a vcr from cashies... mine cost me $50 and it has the RF-out that plugs into my 20 year old TV, and the little plugs that vid cams/comps use. I use it to run my handycam thru the tv.
yeah, its a BNC, but when i've checked dick smiths and tandy, they knew nothing of them or an adaptor and feigned ignorence of them ever existing. a new tv, and a dvd/video player are both on my list of things to buy
I've found that in general the staff at dick smiths/tandy these days actually don't know alot about old-skool electronics. At one time they only used to hire people who knew all about itty bitty electronic components and stuff... :P
you can get no name DVD players for about $50-100 now, I think. If you could find an adaptor, it'd cost you at least 15-20, so I wouldn't bother!
my vcr's connected through my puta by scart because it doesn't have video out for some stupid reason, so that's pretty old in itself. I'll ask Luke about the BNC thing though, cos he fiddles with that stuff and might know...
Is karaoke on tonight? I've been a good girl and done some study, so I'm allowing myself to go this week ;)
I went op-shopping yesterday and found this really cool suede skirt that I'mk debating whther or not to wear. It's quite short, so I'm worried I'll be too cold. Dunno.
Plus there's the the fat calf factor, of course... *ponders*
Luke can make you a cable, but he needs to know what plug to stick on the other end. What's ot got to plug into on your video card, do you or matt know?
