My argument exactly.

Someone mentioned they'd get a new cat declawed because they're scared of claws.

Way to go, get an animal you fear then mutilate it to get rid of the "scary" part.

Both my cats have much preferred to get their claws stuck into a tree or piece of wood. About the furniture that cops it is anything wicker.

*nods lots* yup, yup, but then I am a cat person who thinks that we should allow cats to be animals - not your fluffy child-substitute!

I seem to have some sort of empathy with cats.

Sometimes I see more cat in me than human.

But I brought up another argument that kids are often a lot more destructive than cats, but do we cut their fingers off? Nooo.

I sometimes wish we could...
