But that was a decent run of Maurice Hamer Park. All we needed were the wood ducks, white-eyes and blue-bills and I would have pretty much every species of duck I've ever seen in the wild. First time I've seen the pink-ears on Herdsman. Lots of them around today, along with quite a few shovellers.

Just as I was driving there, near the Brady/Powis intersection I saw a bird swoop over the road. I figure it must have been a bird of prey because it had a smaller bird struggling in its claws. Deduction says that was either a hobby or a peregrine. Let's hope it's the latter. :)

Saw three night herons - I think it's because I know where to look these days.

Large groups of coots grazing. I stood still near some and they came right up to me. I think they thought I might be bearing food.
