Bloody Centerlink (yes again).
I went in to hand in the form about my rent arrangments, because the lease agreement is elsewhere while the powers that be figure out the new stamp duty stuff. I like how on the form if you tick that you have a lease agreement it then says you will need to produce it. "No, I'm handing this form in because at the moment I can't get HOLD of the bloody lease agreement! I have given it to you before, it hasn't changed, but nooo, you have to have it again by this date, which I cannot get the agreement by!"
Anyways, I was told beforehand that I could just hand this form in at the front desk. So I went to the front desk and gave the guy there the form.
"What payment are you on?"
"Newstart."
*Guy prints ticket*
"Please take a seat, hopefully the wait won't be too long." ("not too long" in Centerlink is 45 minutes!)
"But I was told I could hand this in at the front desk."
"There's no such thing as just handing form in anymore."
"Great, I wait an hour for a 2 minute consult."
"Yep!"
Dickhead. I take a seat and seethe awhile. I have better things to do than sit twiddling my thumbs. Once again Centerlink breeds resentment. After 20 minutes I get fed up and go back to the front desk and get a blonde woman.
"Hi, is there a suggestion or a complaint form I can fill out because it's ridiculous having to wait an hour just to hand in a form."
*Woman hands me suggestion form, which I shall fill out and send to the daft powers that be*
"Is that a fortnightly form?"
"No it's one of these..." *shows her form, I go to sit back down. Woman gets my attention again.*
"Is that all you have to do?"
"Yep."
"Just wait a second, I'll do that for you."
THANK YOU!!
I like that woman, she's actually helpful. So it was a happy ending kinda.

Date: 2004-02-11 03:28 pm (UTC)Well, I was thinking. Duck-billed platypuses nurse their young, right? Which is one of the reasons they're technically mammals? But how do they nurse if they have bills? Isn't that awfully uncomfortable? How do they suck?
These are the things that keep me up at night. ^_^

Date: 2004-02-11 09:09 pm (UTC)Monotremes (platypus and echidna) don't actually have nipples. The milk just oozes from a patch of skin and it's lapped up by the babies.
The bill of a platypus is pretty soft. It's like leather stretched over a frame of bone. I imagine the baby's bill is possibly even softer, but don't quote me on that.

Date: 2004-02-13 04:57 pm (UTC)I was running around puzzling about this with Jon and Jason, and then I said, "You know, I should ask in my Livejournal; someone there always know the answer. . . actually, I know which of my friends would know. Gemfyre!" And off I went. ^_~
