Birds talk to me...
Dec. 26th, 2003 10:21 pmIn Adelaide now. Christmas happened, got lots of cool camping and house stuff and such. Matt and I knew exactly what we'd bought for each other because we were both rushed and got the obvious thing, at least it was something we wanted. I also lost a day somewhere and for the first half of Christmas Eve I still thought it was the 23rd. When I worked it all out in my head it made sense but it was just weird. My mobile phone tells me the time and date but doesn't have the day so I have to stop and think about what day it is.
Went on a drive in the Flinders Ranges up to Wilpena Pound which was awesome, didn't spot any rock wallabies however. Took loads of pics, will organise all that when I get home.
Also have a deep and meaningful post for when I get home. I really need to find some people with my state of mind, rather than being stuck with people who have completely different concepts of fun and enjoyment and not having much fun and enjoyment myself because of it. I've been a loner all my life and I'm content to be that way rather than have people with me who don't see things the way I do and just deride my enjoyment of things, but I'd love to find people who appreciate the world the way I do that I can share that joy with.
Heh, well that was most of the d&m post right there. Bet you knew I'd do that eh?? ;)
The Mynah birds confuse me, they whistle like 28 parrots, little bastards. And the magpies are awesome, even if they do speak a foreign language.

Date: 2003-12-26 08:49 am (UTC)I think I have some things in common with you along those lines, but I don't see you that much.
Sometimes I get annoyed (not the right word) when I read some of the personal things you write, because it seems that sometimes you're forcing yourself to do stuff you're not 100% happy with, and not enjoying yourself because of it. I really do hope you do make some friends that you can be yourself with, because no one should have to trawl through a pile of crap every day because they can't do their own thing.
Sorry if I make no sense.

Date: 2003-12-26 07:34 pm (UTC)I hope you didn't have a heaps boring time in Whyalla, it's just that there isn't really a great deal to do, and after living with a computer geek for so long, i'm turning into one (something i never thought i'd do!), so i'm used to just sitting around and playing games and stuff. If we had been in Adelaide, it would have been different cause there are heaps more things to do here. I do enjoy going out for walks and seeing diff things, but of course my main interest is Tigers, which i never see unless i go to a zoo =(
Anyway, i hope that when i come up to Perth in July, you'll be able to take me out to all the different zoos and other walking places cause i'd really enjoy that. Unlike Matt, i do actually enjoy being outside during daylight hrs =)
